The Morelli Closed Gurin Lock is a stainless steel stop fixed on round archwires to block wire sliding. It is used to open space, activate springs, hold tie-backs and prevent the archwire from migrating during treatment. Unlike a crimpable hook, it is not a traction point: its job is to define and hold a position on the wire.
Key Features
Acts as a stop or anchor — fixes the archwire position instead of carrying elastic traction.
Closed body — surrounds the wire for reliable fixation once positioned.
Small dimension — takes up little space along the archwire and stays discreet between teeth.
Full tensile capacity — withstands the load applied by tie-backs and activated springs.
Round archwire compatibility — for round wires up to .020″, in .022″ (0,55 mm) slot appliances.
Stainless steel construction — keeps its position throughout the sliding mechanics.

Tie-back and spring activation — anchor point against which the spring or the tie-back is activated.
Wire migration prevention — keeps the archwire from shifting to one side during treatment.
Stop or traction point?
Use the Closed Gurin Lock when the part has to block wire sliding on a round archwire of up to .020″ — it is not designed to hold an elastic. If you need a traction point on the archwire, use the Short Crimpable Ball Hook; if the traction comes from a mini-implant and the height has to be adjusted, use the Crimpable Hook for TADs.
