The Morelli Closed Gurin Lock Short Hook is a screw-locked orthodontic stop with an integrated short traction hook and a closed round slot that fully encircles the archwire. Threaded onto the wire during assembly, it remains captive on the arch and cannot be displaced sideways, which makes it the choice when the stop must not leave the wire under load. Machined from stainless steel, it is locked in position with the Morelli hexagonal Gurin key and serves as both a stop and a fixed anchorage point on round archwires.
Key Features
Closed round slot — the body surrounds the wire completely, keeping the accessory captive on the arch throughout treatment.
Captive under load — because it cannot exit laterally, it holds its role as a stop even against continuous traction forces.
Short integrated hook — a low-profile attachment point for elastics, chains and coil springs, kept close to the wire.
Adjustable positioning — the nut is loosened with the hexagonal Gurin key so the stop can slide along the wire and be retightened.
Stainless steel construction — corrosion resistance and full tensile capacity in the oral environment.
Side-specific supply — available in Right and Left versions for correct hook orientation in each quadrant.

Clinical Applications
Stops on round working archwires — limits archwire migration and marks the position of the arch inside the tube.
Continuous traction with elastics and springs — the short hook holds the auxiliary at a fixed point that stays on the wire.
Anchorage support in long mechanics — provides a secondary attachment point when a stop must remain reliable over several appointments.
Want a stop that stays on the wire no matter what?
By closing around the archwire, this Gurin trades chairside removability for a captive hold that cannot slip off the arch, which is exactly what long traction mechanics demand.
