The Morelli Titanium Bracket Head Counterclockwise Self-Drilling Mini Implant is a temporary anchorage device (TAD) for interradicular placement. Its bracket head carries two .021″ × .025″ (0,53 × 0,63 mm) slots perpendicular to each other plus a round hole that anchors accessories up to Ø0,8 mm. It is driven counterclockwise, on a left-hand thread, and is identified by its blue head.

Key Features

  • Counterclockwise insertion, blue head — left-hand thread with a blue anodized head, so the insertion direction is identified at a glance chairside

  • Direction chosen by the mechanics — plan the placement so the orthodontic wire mechanics tend to tighten rather than unscrew the mini implant, and observe the removal direction so it is not driven deeper

  • Bracket head with two perpendicular slots — .021″ × .025″ (0,53 × 0,63 mm) each, dimensioned to accommodate rectangular wires precisely

  • Round accessory hole — anchors elastic chains, coil springs and ligatures up to Ø0,8 mm directly in the head, so wire and elastic mechanics can be combined on the same implant

  • Titanium F136 alloy — medical-grade Ti-6Al-4V, the reference material for temporary skeletal anchorage devices

  • Slim Ø1,5 mm body — with a 1 mm transmucosal section, sized for placement between the roots

  • Self-drilling active tip — profile designed for stability, a secure fit in the bone texture and resistance for immediate orthodontic load

Clinical Applications

  • Interradicular skeletal anchorage on the side of the arch where the traction would tend to unscrew a right-hand thread, keeping a minimum clearance of 1 mm from the adjacent roots

  • Rectangular wire mechanics engaged in either of the two perpendicular head slots, chosen by the plane of force required

  • Immediate-load mechanics applied perpendicular to the long axis of the mini implant and within the 300 gf limit, using cantilevers, chains or springs

Which way will the traction turn the screw?
This device is driven counterclockwise (left-hand thread) and carries a blue head: position it so the traction of your mechanics tends to tighten the screw rather than loosen it, respect the 25 N.cm maximum insertion torque and the 300 gf force limit, and reverse the driving direction carefully on removal.
