The Microdont MIR 2.0 SAW Refill is the serrated, non-abrasive strip of the MIR 2.0 system. Carrying no diamond coating, it opens the interproximal contact safely at roughly 0.05 mm before the abrasive strips are introduced — the step that prevents gouging a tight contact.

Why Start with the SAW?
Forcing a diamond strip through a closed contact removes enamel before you have any control over where. The SAW opens the space first; the diamonds then cut only where intended.
