The Orthometric Flexy Heat Activated NiTi Universal Form Round Archwires use a heat-activated alloy: cold, the wire is malleable and inactive, which makes it easy to tie into severely crowded teeth. At mouth temperature (above 35 °C) it recovers its programmed shape and starts working.
Key Features
Heat activated at 35 °C — inactive and easy to tie when cold
Shape memory restores the programmed arch form in the mouth
Constant force through the working range
High resistance to permanent deformation
Five round gauges from Ø.012″ to Ø.020″

Clinical Applications
Initial alignment in severe crowding, where a superelastic wire is hard to engage
Rotation correction
Patients sensitive to higher initial forces
Heat Activated or Superelastic?
Chill the heat activated wire and it goes limp — you can seat it in a bracket a superelastic wire would never reach, then let body heat switch it on.
