The Morelli Stainless Steel Ligature Wire — Ƙ.008″ is a solid single-strand round CrNi (chrome-nickel) stainless steel wire supplied on a 50 g roll and used to tie the archwire into the bracket slot. It is the thinnest ligature gauge Morelli offers: at Ƙ0,20 mm it twists down with the least effort and leaves the smallest amount of metal around the bracket wings.

Key Features

  • Solid round CrNi wire — single strand drawn to a uniform Ƙ0,20 mm, so every tie twists down the same way

  • Thinnest gauge of the range — minimum bulk at the bracket and the lowest profile against lip and cheek

  • Easiest to twist — low torsional resistance, so pigtails form quickly even in crowded, hard-to-reach segments

  • Highest yield per roll — roughly 201 m of continuous wire in a 50 g roll, the longest of the three ligature gauges

  • Smooth drawn surface — feeds through the pliers cleanly and is gentle on soft tissue

  • Continuous roll format — each ligature is cut to the length the case needs, with no fixed-length waste

  • Fine auxiliary work such as securing small attachments and elastic-thread anchorage points

Which ligature gauge should you choose?
Pick Ƙ.008″ when the tie must stay discreet and twist easily; move up to .010″ or .012″ when the ligature has to hold more load. This is a single-strand tying wire and is not interchangeable with twist-flex twisted wire, which works inside the slot as an archwire.
