The Morelli High-Heat Triangle Bite Stick is a band seater that brings an orthodontic band down onto the tooth using the patient’s own occlusion. It combines a stainless steel triangular tip with a gray nylon handle: the polymer body withstands the pressure of the bite and steam autoclave sterilization at 121 °C (250 °F), which is exactly what the High-Heat designation refers to.

Key Features

  • Triangular tip — the working face is a triangle in the standard orientation, giving a narrow, defined contact area against the band margin.

  • Stainless steel working tip — a rigid contact surface that does not deform under repeated occlusal load.

  • Gray nylon handle — absorbs bite pressure without cracking and is unaffected by repeated autoclave cycles.

  • Bite-driven seating — the seating force comes from the patient’s bite rather than from hand pressure, which is easier to control on posterior teeth.

  • Autoclavable — the complete instrument is reprocessed by steam sterilization at 121 °C (250 °F) between patients.

  • Four tip geometries available — Morelli builds the same handle with triangular, inverted triangular, round and square tips; the indications are the same and the operator picks the shape that gives the best access.

Clinical Applications

  • Molar band seating on posterior teeth, where the patient bites on the tip to drive the band to its final position.

  • Band try-in and sizing, confirming that the chosen size seats completely before cementation.

  • Seating after cementation, taking the band fully to place while the cement is still workable.

Standard triangle or inverted triangle?
This unit carries the standard triangular tip. The inverted-triangle model is the same instrument with the tip reversed — same material, same indications — so the choice is operator preference and access to the tooth.
