The Morelli Stainless Steel Open Coil Springs are supplied as a continuous chromium-nickel coil on a 1-meter length, wound with an open pitch. The spring is cut chairside to the span required, seated on the archwire and compressed between two anchorage points, where it releases a light and continuous force that separates the teeth on either side.
Key Features
Works in compression — seated on the archwire between two anchorage points, the coil pushes the adjacent teeth apart
CrNi construction — chromium-nickel stainless steel wound as an open-pitch coil
Light, continuous force — the coil is designed to release a light and continuous load as it deactivates
Longer activation intervals — the sustained force profile means fewer reactivation appointments over the course of the movement
Supplied as a continuous roll — a single 1-meter length, cut chairside to the exact span each segment requires

Clinical Applications
Opening space in the arch — creating room for a tooth that still has to be brought into alignment
Regaining lost space — recovering arch length where the adjacent teeth have drifted into the space
Space management during leveling and alignment
Need to open space along the arch?
Cut the coil to the length of the segment and seat it in compression — a light and continuous force that lets you stretch the interval between activations.
